Selfridges is certainly one of the favourite Oxford Street shops for most people with almost everything imaginable under one roof including some of the latest electronics and designer fashion for both men and women.

This Bank Holiday weekend with predictions of 1 million extra tourists in London it was no surprise to see the streets around Selfridges buzzing with shoppers eager to splash the cash for the latest bargains whilst enjoying the summery weather.

Many were visiting restaurants and St Christopher’s Place, which has a number of nice London restaurants and bars, was packed.

There were a lot of Russian, Arab and Eastern tourists carrying the distinctive bright yellow Selfridges’ shopping bags.

If you are visiting London and staying at one of the best hotels in Central London or even a cheap London hostel then you should take a stroll through Mayfair and Soho before heading to Oxford Street and enjoying the Oxford Street shops.

The nearest Tube Stations to Selfridges are Oxford Circus, Bond Street and Marble Arch.

If you are in London visiting the Oxford Street shops, perhaps to take advantage of the huge number of bargains to be found or grab that hard to find product from the leading brands’ flagship stores, you will certainly need to take a break at some stage during the day to recharge your batteries.

With the beautiful sunshine we have been enjoying this April you may want to enjoy your lunch near Oxford Street in the Sun.

There are lots of places to choose for lunch in Soho, Fitzrovia and Mayfair – the areas around Oxford Street – but finding somewhere to sit outside when everyone else has the same idea can be tricky.

The best areas to head to are Argyll Street and Carnaby Street in Soho and St Christopher’s Place in Fitzrovia. There several places to choose from including Cafe Libra and Zebrano on Ganton Street near Carnaby Street and Carluccio’s in St Christopher’s Place. There are pubs in both areas which serve traditional food.
